Brian Boru’s March comes in two recordings to suit your ceremony:
- One version is slower, more sedate and ideal for a reflection during the ceremony. This version plays for about two minutes.
- The other version is more lively and perfect for a Celtic arrival or exit piece.
A little bit about Brian Boru:
Brian Boru lived from 941 to 1014 and Ireland at this time was ruled by over 150 petty kings, most paying tribute to an over-king, called a higher king. Brian Boru is considered as the most successful Irish king of all time by managing to gain and hold control as high king of over the entire island of Ireland – something that hasn’t been done as successfully before or since by any Irish person. Unfortunately when he died at the Battle of Clontarf in 1014, his sons were unable to hold the kingdom together and Ireland has never been united and independent since then.
